Beginners Guide To Makeup

For the beginners it is important to know what goes into makeup, you need to get the right products and the right application methods. Makeup will not look good unless it is not applied properly. Shabby makeup will not only ruin your looks but will also mar your image. The colour palette of your makeup is another important factor, the shade should suit your skin tone, the occasion and the outfit. Your makeup and hairstyle should be in sync with all the other factors, most importantly it should suit your personality.

The colour palette should also suit the seasons and the time, for instance dark coloured makeup is meant for the evenings and light coloured makeup is meant for day time. Similarly winter season calls for heavy makeup while the makeup should be light during summer.

Another important thing to notes here is that the lipstick need not necessarily match with the outfit, its fine if the shade is not an exact match. If the lipstick shade belongs to the same colour family it is good enough, infact exact matching shades look tacky.

The eyeshadow should never be in one shade, this a common mistake the local salons commit, eyeshadow should have three different colours from the same colour family. The colours should be blended well, cracks and creases are a complete turn off. These are some of the basic tips for doing makeup at home.

Next is to use different makeup brushes for application of lipstick, eyeliner, kajal, kohl, blusher etc. Makeup brushes are a one time investment, they last long if cared properly.

If you are looking for precision in your makeup application then you would need the right brushes. The following types of brushes are a must have. Dome shaped brush for applying blusher, large round brush for applying translucent powder, a brush for lipstick and one for eye shadow/ liner.
