Avoid Hair Loss During Monsoon
Monsoon is a time when you will naturally loose more hair than any other season. This is the time of the year when the metabolism becomes a bit sluggish and affects the over system. The hair follicles that require blood for growth are also affected by poor metabolism.
Lack of blood supply to the hair follicles leads to unhealthy hair and ultimately hair loss. Another cause of hair loss during this season is dryness and frizz. Hair tends to become dry and hay like during monsoons. It becomes extremely frizzy and needs extra care and attention.
Moreover, every time it becomes wet due to rain water, it should be washed. Failing to do so can trigger hair fall even in the healthiest of hair. You have to change your hair care regime to suit these wet months.

1) Oiling - Oil your hair more often during monsoon since it tends to get dry. A blend of chosen aromatherapy oils can do wonder to your hair. Use Jojoba oil in combination with Geranium and Sandalwood oil for soft and lustrous hair. Massage oil into the scalp and leave it overnight. The technique of applying oil also plays an important role. Use your finger tips to rub oil onto the scalp, now use a hot towel wrap 2 to 3 times to enable the quicker penetration of oil. The more it penetrates the better it is for your hair. Oil is like food for your mane, so feed it at least twice a week.
2) Heated instruments – It is best to avoid heated instruments like hair dryer and flat iron. They are the worst enemies of your hair, over use of such instruments can make the hair weak and if you have coloured your hair then the colour is bound to fade due to such heat emitting products. Use them sparingly during monsoon. Do not forget to use a heat protecting serum or spray before blow drying or flat ironing.
3) Hair products - Over use of hair products is another problem, especially when you sleep with the hair product on your head. Product build up can further dry out the hair and make it appear dull and lifeless. This dullness may make you use even more hair products and the result is lack of shine, poor quality and texture and ultimately hair loss.
