Aromatherapy Uses
There are many hair loss treatments available and aromatherapy is one of them. Aromatherapy is the use of essential and carrier oils for treating various conditions. These oils are either massaged into the skin or inhaled. The oils are natural and have no side effects since they are extracted from plants, flowers, trees, shrubs and so on. The oils are used in different methods like bath, massage, vaporization, neat application, perfumes, facial oil, face mask, gels, flower waters, steam inhalation, compress, douche and gargle.
The method of usage depends on the type of condition. For hair and scalp conditions therapeutic massage is the main method used by professional aromatherapists. But this can be practiced equally at home, aromatic oils not only cure hair problems like hair loss, dandruff etc. but also relieve tension and stress.
For the purpose of massage essential oils are mixed with a base oil before application. Gentle night massage of the scalp will relieve tightness caused by stress. Tension is also responsible for preventing the normal flow of blood, lymph, sebum and other nutrients.
Some of the best aromatherapy formulations are listed below:
1) Mix 2 drops each of Rosemary oil, Lavender oil and Geranium oil in 4-5 teaspoons of Jojoba oil which is a carrier oil. You can use the same combination of essential oils for your bath. After shampooing your hair, prepare a final rinse with these essential oils in a jug of water, do not use jojoba oil for rinsing since it is a carrier oil.
2) Another blend for massage which is uplifting and healthy for hair is the use of of Rosemary, Juniper berry and Lemon oil. You can also add Lavender oil to this blend, mix it in the same proportion as mentioned above and massage it on your scalp.
