Aftercare tips for ear piercing:
An ear piercing takes at least 8 weeks to heal. In case, aftercare is done properly, it will heal in 5 weeks. But ear cartilage piercing takes a little longer to heal. These can sometimes lead to further complications. So proper aftercare is necessary.
Cleaning your piercing is a must-do. You should clean your piercing at least twice a day with an antiseptic lotion. You can also clean it with a little saline water.
Do not leave your hair open. Hair can be stuck to the ear jewelry and cause infection and pain. Tie up your hair neatly to avoid this. Do not let shampoos or soaps come in contact with the newly done piercing. This will make it go further infected.
Avoid fiddling with the piercing much. Rotate it gently to avoid jamming. Also avoid wearing tight hats, headphones for the first few days. Keep the piercing dry.
Avoid alcohol and drugs as these delays the piercing to heal.
