1) Invest in a good hair sunscreen. Sun damage can make your hair dry and lifeless, a sunscreen is a must not only for the skin but also for hair. Sunscreen with SPF of 8 or 10 is good enough.
2) Prevent heat damage by washing your hair will cool water. Also avoid the use of heated instruments like hair dryer, flat iron, tongs, curlers etc. These tools can damage the cuticle and cause breakage.
3) Wear a scarf or a hat when the exposure to sun is long. Covering your head is the best way of preventing other damages caused due to environment.
4) Oil your hair once in a week and follow it up with a hot towel wrap. Use aromatherapy oils for better results.
5) Prevent split ends by trimming hair regularly, i.e. every 3 to 4 weeks, get your hair trimmed. Dry ends can cause split ends.
6) Tie your hair when out in breeze, this prevent knots and snarls and will also preventing frizzing of your mane.
