Wavy Hair

Wavy Hair

Even though wavy hair has been out in the fashion wilderness for a while, waves and curls have now made their comeback. For most of us out there, we have just now mastered the ability to get our hair poker straight and now the challenge before us is to do curls and waves without looking like some of the eighties throwbacks or even just remembering how to do them at all. If you already have natural waves or curls, you are ahead of the game. All you have to do is use products that are specifically designed for curl enhancing along with a hair dryer that has a diffuser. Everyone else out there, it is time for you to dig out your curling tongs and Carmens. Below you will find what you need to do with them and some more fresh tips as well.

Creating Waves

If you want to have pretty waves in your hair, one of the best ways to achieve those flowing waves it to use a curling iron that has a large barrel. Before using the curling iron, you are going to start at the nape of the head and you are going to divide your dry clean hair into sections. You should spray each section with a product that protects your hair from heat. Then you will need to comb through each section so that the product is distributing evenly. Once you have completed this, you will clamp the curling irons over the ends of each section and then you will wind the curling iron up the entire length of the hair.

Make sure that you stop about four inches from the scalp. If you follow these directions precisely, you will be able to ensure that the result will be a loose modern look. The curling iron should stay in your hair for about five seconds and then you are gently going to unwind your hair and repeat the process over. You will start from the back and then you will work your way around your head until it is completely curled. Now you can use your fingers to break down the sections of curls in order to create a softer look but you are going to need to make sure that you do this carefully. When you are finished, you can finish the look with some hairspray or shine enhancing serum.

All about Curls

If you are going to be creating your wavy hair by using curlers, you need to make sure that your hair is completely dry before doing so because the weight of the residual water can make your curls fall very quickly. You can use the clips to section your hair and you can apply a styling product of your choice to encourage the curls and to make them hold up longer. If you use large sections of hair, you will be able to make looser and bigger curls. If you use small sections of hair, you are going to have more defined curls.

A general rule to follow would be to use the smaller rollers for the hair at the top of your head and then use the large ones at the back and underneath your hair. If you follow these tips, you are sure to have wavy hair by morning. Right now, you may be thinking that this is a lot of work just to have wavy hair but you have to remember that in order to achieve the look that you are searching for, you are going to have to work hard to achieve it.

Taking Control of Your Wavy Hair

If you already have wavy hair, you are truly blessed. For those of you out there that would like to have hair with a little curl to it, you can achieve your goal if you work hard. All you have to do is follow the simple tips that you have been told of in this article and make sure that you take care of your hair on a daily basis and you will be able to achieve the look that you have always dreamed of.
