Oily Hair

Oily Hair

If you suffer from oily hair, here are a few tips that you should take into consideration on oil hair resolution and prevention. In order to resolve or prevent oily hair, the most important thing that you can do is to shampoo your hair on a daily basis. For all of you out there that have a tendency to have problems with oily hair, you may want to try leaving the shampoo in your hair for five minutes before you rinse it out. Since brushing your hair can carry the oil from your scalp to the ends of your hair, you may want to avoid brushing your hair too vigorously or too often as well. Another factor that contributes to the oiliness of your hair is hormones because they affect oil production. Factors that contribute to your hormone levels are stress and birth control pills.

Ways to Prevent Oily Hair

Even though it doesn’t always seem like it, your hair’s overall appearance is basically a result of an individual’s daily habits. In this section of the article, you will find a couple of ways that you can improve the beauty and natural health of your hair. Please take these into consideration when considering different methods of preventing oily hair. However, keep in mind that each individual person has different needs for their hair and because of that, what works for one individual may not work for another.

Oily hair can be prevented by shampooing less often. When you wash your hair on a daily basis, it strips your hair of its natural oils and then it coats your hair with unnecessary amounts of residue and chemicals which in turn leaves it under-nourished and limp. When it comes to shampooing, your best bet would be to wash your hair every other day and use a shampoo that is designed specifically for your hair type.

Greasy hair can also be a result of using way too much conditioner. If you are a victim of greasy hair, you need to use a light conditioner every other day and then when you use it you need to only apply it to the tips or ends of the hair or the areas that the conditioner is needed the most. Remember when using conditioner that you only need to use it in small amounts, which generally will be less than a teaspoon. Another way that you can prevent greasy hair is to make sure that you rinse thoroughly.

Styling products as well as perspiration can contribute to the build up of compounds which results in a greasy mess. If you spend a little more time scrubbing underneath the water, believe me, your scalp will applaud you. Following a health diet can also prevent greasy hair. Try to avoid oily and excessively fatty foods along with preservatives and additives. Heavy fats have a way of working themselves into your skin oils which results in overly oily skin and hair. If you would like to strengthen your hair, you can increase your consumption of minerals, vitamins and proteins.

Greasy hair can be caused by added stress as well. When you have stress in other areas of your life, it can affect the overall state of your hair as well as the rest of your body. So, you need to make sure that you take the time each and every day to relax and calm down for a minute. You also need to make sure that you are aware of your emotional and mental health. You may not realize it right this minute but there are a lot of things in your life that can cause stress, work and school are just two of the many stress factors that we experience on a daily basis. If you take the time to eliminate those stress factors that you can avoid, you should do so and for those that you can’t avoid, you need to find ways that you can deal with them that want stress you out.
